I would like to take a moment of your time to introduce myself. My name is Steve Blauwkamp and I have been in the lawn sprinkler industry for 26 years now. I started as an installer, moved into a General Manager's position of three satellite offices. Later on I worked as a distributor, which covered Ohio and Kentucky. During these years I also taught Irrigation classes at The Cincinnati State College. My bachelor's degree in Business is from The University of Michigan.

In 1989, I started The Lawn Management Sprinkler Company. The company has done better than I would have imagined. We owe much of our growth to so many colleagues in the landscape and building industry. Our crews are trained in house and have taken factory taught classes as well. Our Foremen have been with us an average of 5 years. Our installation crews, office personnel, and servicemen are continually working to provide fast, efficient services.

As a company we work with landscapers, builders, and you, the homeowner, to get a customized sprinkler or landscape lighting system. Based on your needs we tailor your system for a lush, green lawn, or a one-of-a-kind lighting impression. We believe in educating the consumer on how to conserve water and electricity with their system.

The Lawn Management Sprinkler Company strives to be the best in the lawn sprinkler industry and the landscape lighting market. We pride ourselves by offering reliable, quality installation and service.

That is our commitment to you.

Thank you for this opportunity to introduce our company's services and myself. We would be pleased to provide recommendations from clients. Let us help you protect what is priceless to you.

President

Hunter and Rainbird brands of equipment are what Lawn Management Sprinkler Company feels comfortable in recommending for the best heads and automatic timers. This opinion is based on what we have seen to be the most reliable and user-friendly products available.

Your sprinkler system can be installed during any season. Although spring and fall are the most favorable times of the year, your system can still be installed in the winter if the ground is not frozen. Summertime installations are fine also, but a little help is required in terms of watering before, during, and after the installation of the system. No matter what time of year a system is installed, the benefits will be seen in a matter of days or weeks.

There will be some damage to the lawn and landscape beds, as with any type of construction. We go to great pains to keep any damages to an absolute minimum. We use the latest machinery and techniques to install the piping, which does very little damage. The better the lawn looks when we start, the better it will look when we are completed. It will require a little time to heal, approximately two to three weeks, which is considered to be normal.

A well-designed sprinkler system should actually cause a decrease in your water bill if you already water your property with a typical sprinkler. The reason for this is that most people don't have the time to continually move a sprinkler around their property in an effort to provide sufficient watering. Conventional sprinklers tend to be left in one place for too long of a period and over water, while other areas suffer. With a properly designed and well-programmed sprinkler system, watering efficiency is at its best, as you have total control over which areas get water, how much and when. By using the features of the automatic control box, you will have the ability to control the watering of each location, although periodic changes may be required due to weather.

In the fall season (October thru November), the system must be winterized in order to keep the pipes, heads and any other components safe from freezing. Winterizing ("blowouts") the system is accomplished by connecting an air compressor to the system and forcing the water from the system out via the sprinkler heads. While this method does not remove 100 percent of the water from the system, it removes the majority of the water, which is enough to eliminate potential freezing. After the Z's of October, you should wrap up the backflow to prevent freezing until you can get it winterized.

The Lawn Management Sprinkler Company strives to be the best in the lawn sprinkler industry. That is our commitment to you. To help us succeed we ask for the following assistance:

  • Continue to water your lawn and landscape unless we have received adequate rainfall.
  • Mow the lawn before installation begins, which helps to keep the mess to a minimum.
  • Feed your lawn well, including insect critter control. The better the lawn health is, the better it will be when we are finished.
  • If you have pets, please clean up the areas where we will be putting in an irrigation system.
  • If you have a dog fence or downspout piping, please have them marked to avoid any damages.

Please make provisions for us to have access to your home for the following reasons:

  • To access where to place and install the controller and backflow
  • To turn on your system and demonstrate how the controller is programmed to work your system
  • Possible repairs, service, spring turn-on and/or winterization
